Channel drains, also known as trench drains, linear drains or drainage channels, are designed to provide an effective surface water management method, especially on non-porous surfaces, to prevent accumulation of water and ensure that even heavy rains can be effectively treated .

Channel drains are usually trough-shaped and covered with grilles to prevent debris from blocking the channel drains.

Channel drainage installation

Channel drain is a good long-term solution, but only if it is installed correctly. Before investing in this project, you need to have a solid plan.

Remember, not all drainage channels are the same; however, the installation methods for different products are usually similar.

Every installation starts from the ditch (hence the name). Before you start digging, you need to remember a few things.

How is the score in this area? The slope needs to be just right to allow water to enter the drain and away from your home. If your pipe is set too high, the water will flow back instead of into it. Here is a simple method of measuring slope for landscape drainage.
